[Dumaguete-Siquijor (Part 1)]

I was slightly drunk last night and relied too much on Dave to wake me up for an early market stroll the next day. Unfortunately, he was also drunk and we were already behind schedule for the first boat trip heading to Siquijor Island.

Or maybe not.

even at the docks, Siquijor waters look like THIS.

Dumaguete-Siquijor (Part 1)

February... March... April... May... June-- okay, stop. Just. STOP. This can't go on.

My thoughts immediately went to Davao but ditched the idea altogether when Dave, a colleague of mine in the ER, mentioned something about his vacation leave on September. As it turned out, he was going to Dumaguete and that if we wanted to join him, we were welcome.

Long story short, I bought a ticket-- punched-through any minor infarction encountered and crushed any form inhibition that dared cross my way-- and waited for weeks to pass.

July... August... and, finally, September.

definitely not my crazy Sagada Group, but I love them anyway. :)

I am aware  that Tagaytay and Enchanted Kingdom pale in-comparison to destinations outside the Metro, but bear with me. This is just a filler entry for travel-scarce 2013. Hahaha.

Besides, it's not really a personal choice-- it's a Departmental Team Building. :)

First and foremost, look at the travel date. Okay?

Okay. So now that we're all in the same page, let me begin this tale by saying that ever since Mary left for Norway, there had been a scarcity of out-of-town trips on our end but that was mostly due to the fact that our busy schedules weren't agreeing much with each other; and also, at that time, I thought transferring to the Cath Lab was THE worst decision I've had in years. In short, I was sad and home-sick-- and by home-sick, I meant, I was having separation anxiety attacks from my second home which was the Emergency Department. That, in itself, sounded stupid now that I got to think about. It's not like I couldn't visit the department anymore, and my friends were all laughing and saying that they'd all resign pretty soon anyway so there won't be anyone left to visit.

Hahaha. *cough*

Anyway, out of depression, I looked into my FB groups and found that-- thank Heavens!-- Carlo had one planned-out for Mt. Batulao. I called him up a few weeks back; arranged for stuff, and agreed to meet up with him at the bus terminal early on that day...

at peak number 8, with a view of the Pit Boss peak number 11.
