England, United Kingdom
14 - 21 April 2018
-------------------------------
The busy streets of London, Windsor, picturesque Bath, and -of course- the Stone Henge. I always knew I would be able to see these places with my own eyes, and yet when I was there, I still couldn't believe it.
Stone Henge - the weather (literally) rained on my parade that day |
The weather was awful though (not surprised at all): it was raining when we were touring Stone Henge and Bath, and then when we were frolicking around London, it was 30 degrees. Initially, I thought that wouldn't have been a problem because I grew up in a tropical country AND I worked in Dubai for two and a half years, but unfortunately the heat in London is just... crazy-dry. It zaps your energy. It's the kind of stuff that would definitely induce heatstroke and kill somebody on the fly.

Impressions:
- It's... quite crowded.
- If you want to avoid spending a lot, be a little street smart and do as the locals do when it comes to eating.
- Fish and Chips are a little overrated, but you can go on ahead and try them just for kicks. You are in London after all. No one will judge you for it, and anybody who does can go do a running jump. ;)
- Public transportation is extremely reliable, but a little outdated (don't judge me for saying so-- I lived in Dubai for quite some time haha).
- Thieves abound! Be careful with hopping in and off a bus. I nearly got mugged by someone who bumped into me on purpose, thinking he would knock-off my phone from my hand. Unfortunately for him, he only managed to knock-off my Oyster card.
- Do not-- I repeat-- DO NOT book a hotel in Croydon if you plan to travel around London. It is 2 HOURS away. (No, I did not book a hotel in Croydon, but I did stay there with a friend-- that's the reason why I knew public transpo was extremely reliable haha).
- If it's your first time in London, I bid you Enjoy! May this be the first of many tours in Europe for you. God bless. :)
