Dubai Heritage Sites

------------------------------------
It's The Cultural Thing
Heritage Sites
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
-----------------------------------

Entrance fee is usually (1) 3 AED, or (2) FREE.

Just make sure that you abide by their times and rules. Respect the place because it is something that the Emiratis are very proud of as a nation-- and it's kind of hard not to.

Hop on a green-line train towards Etisalat Station, and alight at Al Ghubaiba Platform. From there, the Heritage Sites are a mere walking distance; maybe, 3 to 5 minutes to The Heritage Village if you're a fast walker. However, it will be hard to do that since the streets will be lined with Gold stores. Yes, it's also the location of the famous Gold Souq, so bring cash to burn. :D

From the Metro Station though, you'll have to walk a bit of a distance to reach the Walls of Old Dubai-- perhaps 10 to 15 minutes? But it's good exercise. Haha. We used Google Maps to navigate since my companions and I were quite new to this experience.

Standard Emirati Architecture
Well... I don't exactly know if it's called that, but... yeah. XD

We weren't able to enter the Dubai Museum inside the Wall of Old Dubai because it's (1) Ramadan, and (2) it's already past 5:45pm, and most cultural establishments will be closed by then. I'll try to return there though, if schedule permits.

The Heritage Village is located right beside the creek-- literally, THE Creek, or the life-source as they call it. It's full of alley-ways and stores that sell all kinds of trinkets, and then there is also this curious place called the Coffee Museum. It was closed when we went there, but as a self-professed coffee-lover, mark my words: I SHALL RETURN. :D

If you're hungry, fear not! There is an abundance of restaurants by the creek-side, so you won't go hungry; and if you want to try shisha, you can also order for one.

Basically, a full day will be enough to cover the entire area; though I suggest you go there before or after summer because it tends to get a bit too hot to walk around. You know... avoid heat-stroke and all. XD
